Chael Anderson confusion

Postby biscuits69 » Wed Jun 13, 2012 6:38 pm

Hey linker I was wondering how Chael tagged Anderson on the feet at 1:48. Now I know it was just a couple shots, but i still wonder "How did Anderson allow that to happen" Because clearly Chael is no technician on the feet. Just wanted to know what do you think was the biggest determining factor? Was it Andersons hurt rib? Or was it the threat of the takedown, even though Chael didnt even feint the TD before landing those shots

IT was the fact that Ando flat out either wanted to go down/ or did not take Chael seriously. If you watch the Okami fight Chael had some crisp technical strikes, not fluid but crisp and technical. Silva just dropped his hands to make Chael come in so he can jab and drop him but Chael just went forward and punched him in the face pure and simple. I doubt the same thing would happen if Ando put his hands up.

Because Anderson goes to war against mediocre fighters like Chael Sonnen.

Honestly, it could be any reason or no reason at all. Who are we to pinpoint what is going on in a fight?

I really think that something was wrong with him that night or he didn't take Chael seriously. But I don't think he was afraid of being taken down, because he has fought great wrestlers, grapplers throughout his career. Besides if you're a jiu jitsu blackbelt with a good triangle you gotta like your chances against Sonnen. :geek:

When you have a rib injury, twisting motions and other upper body movements is felt clearly. Anderson went into a fight with in injured rib, and the usual upper body movement was lacking. His TDD look quite the opposite against Vitor Belfort, and even when it hit the ground he defended quickly got up quickly. Chael momentum comes after a 5 round war against Anderson Silva with a rib injury ... with Chael Sonnen having a T:E ratio of astounding 16.9 ... i mean, what was it in his training sessions ? 20 ? 30 ?? 50 ??? No one knows, but it is highly unlikely to have been less than 16.9.
And now the guy is legally juicing for a title match fight ?

And even when Chael Sonnen repeatedly toke it to the ground, punching again and again, that did'nt seem to affect Anderson Silva one bit. So Chael "Juiced Up" "Pillowhand" Sonnen word is not the most credible imo. But, Hi ... a healthy Anderson Silva might spank Chael Sonnen into silence this time 8)

It's because Sonnen is a better striker than Anderson, he made his eyes roll; fight shoulda been stopped

Anderson's pre-fight rib injury is just as believable as Tito's pre-fight cracked skull.

typically Anderson silva spends an entire round warming up. idk why. there are those first round KO's like vs James Irvin or Vitor belfort, but by and large, he never ends in the first round, and always takes that first round to get going. Chael doesn't let anyone warm up.

This is exactly the answer I wanted, you forgot to mention Silva is a glass jaw though

What a terrible explanation, troll

no really though that makes the most sense along with the rib injury

I have noticed in a lot of Ando's fights that he likes proving his critics and opponents wrong. He is so bored fighting these mid-level WEC washouts that he plays games with them and calls the way he will finish them(usually the method thought to be the most unlikely). Cheal promised to stomp him. Anderson vowed to Submit Cheal. When the fight ended, Sonnen had thrown 300+ punches over the course of 23 minutes that had little effect and left virtually no damage to Silva's face. This was Silva's way of saying "Cheal is a pillow-fisted trash-talker that is no threat to me". Then Silva submitted him as promised.
Anderson has proven time and time again that he controls the fight and his mental toughness is unmatched!

Hell no! Chael is already giving Anderson a rematch. If Anderson fucks it up again he doesn't deserve a second rematch. He's just going to have to accept that Chael is better than him.
