it sure seems like it..Fortunately, i'm a hilljack motherfucker and my hobbies don't require much cash. Beyond that, I do/see some crazy shit for my job and have cooler life experiences than my friends who make 3-4 times the money I make. People seem to be more interested in stories about being charged by a moose or a bear than stories about selling shit. Plus my office is pretty sweet.




Then again, I've heard owning a home is pretty cool too...

Funny... I just got invited to interview for an internship at a very popular men's magazine. Unpaid; three months; but I would have to leave my cushy [boring] job that pays well.

Yeah--honestly if that's what you want to do, i'd feel lucky to have that opportunity. Unfortunately I'm restricted by pretty insane student debt so my options are far more limited that someone who has no substantial debt. But if I weren't, i'd take an unpaid internship somewhere I gave a shit about in a heartbeat. Plus if you have paid previous experience (doing accounting, or something else boring but extremely transferable), you could theoretically parlay that with the unpaid field-specific work into something posh.
