Why stop there, lets split the UFC into 2 organisations, and have 2 belts. 1 organisation for exciting fighters, who want to put on a show and 1 for the fighters who want to win fights. 1 boring fight and your cut from the exciting org, whilst winning and losing is what counts in the other org.

No, I'm thinking of Volkmann. The guy is fucking weird, and if he wants to speak out on healthcare, fine. But you do not say you want to fight the President. That is stupidity, no matter which way you look at it. I'm sure a lot of people don't like Obama, but to voice it in that particular manner is absurd. And don't confuse me for someone who wishes it were this way. When he said he wanted to fight Obama, I didn't pay any nevermind to it, but I knew there would be repercussions somehow. It's the way this fucked up world is that you simply just can't call out whoever you wish.

Well, I can agree with you that his comment about fighting Obama may not have been the best idea if he was not trying to draw attention to himself, but he was. He was intentionally saying things that would get him in the spotlight so he can voice his opinions and it worked like a charm.

It's exactly what Chael does but it is instead used to draw attention to a political issue, rather than a stupid punchline. One thing I will say against it, mind you, is that Volkmann probably used the wrong media venue to do what he did and that most definitely worked against him with his Obama comment.
