Thoughts on Lashley

Postby SamuraixJack » Sun May 06, 2012 6:03 pm

He seems to be developing into his own now. He was robbed in his last fight with Thompson, but with how thin SFL's HW division is a rematch is likely to happen soon.

Thoughts on him???

Send his over hyped ass back to vince and his "sports entertainment" company where he belongs with all the other wanna bes cause he sure doesnt have what it takes to make it in mma especially as far behind as he is and already at 35 years old.Go back to wwe and make some money while you still got the body TO make some money. One more mma loss and you gonna be fighting in podunk north dakota for gas money if you lucky AKA THE LESNAR MANEUVER

Lashley vs SHAq Lashley vs Randleman........I mean, Lashley is still a circus act. If he wanted to be a real fighter he knew he had to put Thompson away. Well, it didn't happen, and apparently, judges hate him. As do most other people. Cool dude though. He's just Bob Sapp with wrestling skills.

If he came into MMA when he was younger he'd be much better off at this point, but if he actually takes things seriously he could do decently, but again, I think he just came into the game way too late. Competing with dudes his age who have been involved in MMA much longer than he has is kind of a strange decision.

Maybe i hadn't seen him fight in a while but I was pretty impressed honestly. He throws his punches like garbage but he puts them together fairly well and with some power. Not saying he'll be making waves anytime soon in the upper end of the division but it's pretty rare for me to enjoy a HW fight that much outside of the UFC.

I like the fact that he fights. I'm not a fan, but i can appriciate the fact that he's 35 and he wants to fight in one of the most dynamic sports there is.

Yes he could make a shit ton more money in the WWE but he fights instead.
This deserves respect.

With most of the clowns here hating on him, it only proves at least to me that he is doing somthing right.

Ok, whos got thoughts on Batista actually fighting?

...

Lashley deserves credit for trying, at least. Hes no Lesnar, but hes following his own path.

He was apparently ready to fight when the plans fell apart, now he coaches with the Gracies or something full time.

no... bautista(real spelling of his last name) has not fought yet. He was close to signing with strikeforce but when zuffa purchased they immediatly backed away from dave. From whats seen of him now its said he lost condsiderable amount of size. It seems to be what lesnar did, however instead of lesnar going down in weight he changed his workouts to get "Flabby" so he would be able to cut more water weight/regain before the fight. In daves case he just lost pure size. He opened a gym with the gracies and has been working with them t here, however a mma debut seems unlinkly due to his age. It seems hes more into doing movies now, with a wrestling return MAYBE possible. TNA does not have the money to get him, and he constantly bashes the wwe product for their pg style and said he will only return when that ends( the rock did the same, and it took 2 years for the wwe to get the right idea to let the rock go outside pg)...however such would not be a likely move for dave as he no where close draws what the rock does

If Lashley couldn't knock out Thompson he deserved to loose, but if Lashley would have just kicked it would have been a solid performance

Just another fake wrasling roider/hgh/ped user that that we all shouldn't even give a shit about wasting our time with here anymore. Let em go back to WWE or w/e pos 2nd rate org will sign em cuz he ain't suited for MMA & has been to foolish to listen to any1 on what he'd need to do to become better at it. Or hey he can become just another "Bob Sapp" getting paid to fight & lose.

reading some of these posts i swear i'd love to see the age and IQ of some of you guys.

lashley did the best he could. just because he was a pro wrestler before mma doesnt mean he shouldnt continue to pursue fighting. he hasnt fought any of the best fighters in the world. and he will never reach that level. but if a pro fighter is fighting and its a close fight then there is no need to criticize the his career choice based on his past profession. regardless of his skill level, if his fights are tough for him then he is being matched up with guys he should be facing. nothing too easy, nothing too impossible. i refuse to be one of these mindless automatons claiming i dont want him around just because its the cool thing to do.

im pretty sure lashley isnt the only mma fighter who's had a previous job. he has a 7-2 record and has been fighting since 2008. so as much as it bothers plenty of people, he's a professional mixed martial artist. and as much as people would rather not believe this...he seems to be taking mma serious. am i supposed to fault him for that?? the only criticism i have concerning his overall career choice is the fact that he started so late. i think he's 35 and thats just too late to make a real splash if you arent already well rounded in mma.

mma fans are so...so...whats the word im looking for?? anyway, they claim they want mma to get respect of other pro athletes and the public in general. yet when a pro athlete wants to compete, its customary to automatically want them out of the sport of mma. as if them saying "hey, i like mma enough to actually train and compete" is somehow disrespectful and not exactly the kind of positive recognition we all claim we want the sport to get.

stupid...thats the word im looking for. mma fans are so stupid.
