Officially converted to a Jon Jones fan

This guy is the Rodney Dangerfield of MMA.

All the while doing unprecedented shit the MMA world has never really seen(sans Anderson, maybe BJ).
Not in the modern era. And not in America. Not in this awesome weight class.

And does he gain fans in these incredible feats???
NO, just more hate. From me, too - until this last fight...

Fuck that.
I'm not going to hate on this guy cuz he beat up Shogun.
He is a douche, I'll give the haters that.
But he tries to finish everyone- and for a UFC champ- that's good enough in my book.
And besides, I just love MMA too much to hate on something that's so impressive.

I could really care less that he is a terrible interview and says(or writes) stupid shit
(like writing champ 2012 on his hand before Shogun).
He was right though, wasn't he?
And maybe he needed/wanted to do it for himself.
Who are we to say he shouldn't do that? He's the athlete, it's his prerogative.

Plus I just feel kind of bad for him,
I see his ego getting KTFO every time he shows up anywhere and faces the hate up close(weigh-ins)...
But I think his fighting game feeds off of it.

Never thought I'd say this, but I am a Jon Bones Jones fan.
I'll still root against him vs Shogun, Hendo, Gus, Griff, Page, Shad, Chuck, Lyoto, Nog, Tito - and maybe a few more...
BUT I am going to stop hatin on him for just no reason.

Being a dickhead athlete is non factoring for me, in many ways.
Bonds, Jordan, Lebron - All known to be assholes to people.
Who cares? Ever seen Bonds go yard? Lebron full speed dribble slam? Jordan drop 63?

All amazing things that ignite what makes a fan a fan in me.

He's a fucking beast and nobody at 205 is gonna beat him, but I don't like him because he kicked the shit out of my favorite fighter... and he didn't beat the shit out of Rashad. I hate him for that too.

Isn't going for a triangle in the last 10 seconds on Jackson the same as going for an armbar in the last 10 seconds in a fight with Dan Hardy? Don't mind my sig, I just thought it was funny. Jon isn't fighting to finish, he's fighting to win, the only reason why he's finishing (besides his reach/height) is his weak division and the fact that he's bigger than these fighters he's facing come fight time.

Well he's just such a freak of nature and amazing fighter it's good enough for me. In my opinion there are far worse fighters out there in terms of the shit they talk. They're just normal people. Normal people talk shit all the time. It's quite a catch to find a truly humble person, just like it's rare to find a truly humble fighter.

I hate the idea of liking or disliking a fighter based on our perception of their personality in the media and until Jones came along I wholeheartedly was a fan of mma who lived by this philosophy. As far as jones personality is concerned...he's one hell of a martial artist.

I have to respect that honesty and that reasoning. It's stupid when people obviously hate on a fighter but pretend like they're completely unbiased.

STILL unimpressed with Jones' talents. He's the dirtiest fighter in the entire company, he's arrogant and annoying. I'm never jumping on this bandwagon. I'll enjoy hating on Jones for the duration of his career

I dislike him when he opens his mouth. But i like him when he fights. I dont root for him but i like his style and enjoy his fights. If i watch a lot of press or media on him the dislike sentiment rises. If i watch fight clips the like sentiment rises. I guess the on neutralises the other.
