weight classes we know they will never fight each other and at 185 i truly see machida ruling the division. As for
Anderson, there are so many fights that everyone would like to see, we all know anderson is going to retire soon.
I am sure everyone wants to see Silva fight as much as possible before he does retire and at 205 there are so many
exciting fights everyone would buy and enjoy.

Thoughts?

My first throught, You don't know much.

Second thought, was the same.

I think Machida would have a great shot at being 185 champ, but Silva as we know and he said is not going to fight someone at 205 especially that a younger stronger version of him is already wearing the strap. So the spider would have to agree on fighting one of his MANY friends, and we all know where train is headed. Unless of course the train headed south and it is 170 and GSP, he said he would take that one. What a shock.

Anyone that thinks Jones could hang with Silva is nuts. When Jones matures that would have been an intriguing match but his current level now will not suffice.

you do realize anderson himself said he couldnt beat jones nor any other brazilian.....machida wasnt completely annihlated because of his sumo background.. and no anderson wouldnt get near a title shot if he had to earn it.. As someone else said, theres too many elite wrestlers at 205. Rashad,Davis,Bader are all exetremly bad match ups for anderson if they actually fight smart and decide not to bang with him ala hendo rd 2...... this is like the people who believe anderson /sonnen will be much diff than the first fight....since when did anderson get this magically takedown ability....Andersons TDD has always been bad, but hes good off his back so he doesnt really train for TDD.... the problem is with rashad and davis are there bigger and stronger than chael...and nither of them ahve shown to be able to get subbed.... davis even competes in bjj tournys so i esp doubt he would. As i said in my post, anderson knows 205 is a bad division for him which iswhy he has always stated he would never go FT. Anderson knows his prime weight is 185, he feels slower at 205 which he doesnt like and know it will hurt his game . in machidas case, he already has the TDD and he will likely be even faster at 185.....

bader, davis, and rashad will all fall. I don't see those fighters beating anderson even with all their tools. If they decided to take it to the ground, they will find out that andersons subs are no joke. ask chael or travis lutter.

Uhhh what?

Really you are going to use subbing Chael Sonnen as the example of Anderson Silva having subs that are "no joke"? Chael Sonnen? The guy that has lost 80% of his losses by submission? Come on man.

Oh and Lutter, who was vastly inferior and should have never been in there with Silva and didn't even make weight tapped due to elbows, not a submission....sooooo.....yeah.

machida will probably go down while silva is gonna retire. although we wanna see silva fight a few people at 205. he's currently setting what will be a near impossible record to break as far as title defenses go so i dont picture him moving up until maybe his last fight and of course he'd get an immediate title shot if that happened.

when silva leaves the division i dont see too many people who would be able to beat machida at 205 (nobody actually) maybe vitor if he can catch him one good time but other than that machida would be a boss. assuming the weight cut doesnt affect him.
