Fedor's been fighting cans and has-beens, yep I totally agree. Ive never understood how this guys record impresses the hell outta ppl.
Fedor fought *Cans* then lost to not only superior fighters *in Strikeforce*(God knows what coulda happened to the poor guy in the Ufc) but also to superior gameplans.

I think all the hoopla should be put to rest, n have Fedor do a 2 fight contract in the Ufc. That way, if he loses, he can try redeem himself. If he wins, continue having him fight. Whatever.

But Fedor is one of the most *LETHAL* can-crushers we've ever witnessed in our lifetime. Just saying XD
The taste of defeat is not all Burritoking left in my mouth... why oh why did I bet against him...

Name me another fighter who has destroyed more former champions than Fedor has. I cannot wait to hear your answer for this.

Anderson Silva, Jose Aldo, GSP they must be lethal can crushers too then.

Λ Anderson, Gsp, Aldo, Jones are all *Champions* ... What was Fedor? 'Undefeated' ooo big deal! Hold a title n defend it n have a 30+ win streak then we'll talk.
But Fedor didnt fight top competition, did he? M1 the problem? Fedor sure as hell wasnt going for the Strikeforce title, Fedor vs Reem never happened.
Just dont get the hype, I guess

Fedor was the last defending Pride Champion. Won the title from undisputed #1 HW Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira. He defended that bel for the duration of that organization, and it had without a doubt the top HW of its time. Fedor then came to the US and won the WAMMA against #5 HW Tim Sylvia who had just lost a close fight for the UFC Interim belt. He defended said title for the duration of WAMMA's existence including a win over #3 HW and former UFC champ Andrei Arlovski.

I'm not crazy not crazy about Fedor fighting Rizzo either, but let's not discredit the man's entire career because of it.

I would say I wonder what Kusok is doing these days but that homo most likely somersaulted off the Golden Gate Bridge by this point. Probably after the KO loss via Dan Henderson , if not after the bludgeoning at the hands of Bigfoot Silva.

I'd love to see Fedor in the UFC. He's an exiting fighter. They should shitcan Jon Fitch's ass and sign Fedor for whatever would be a fair amount....oh wait, Fedor's testicles belong to M-1 Global, Fedor in UFC, a no-go. Nevermind.

You forgot to add a question mark after the title.
"I don’t like the fights where I came, saw and conquered my opponent by knockout leaving him no chances. Actually the fights I like more are those where my adversary fights back. I like to rumble, to feel my opponent, just like that old dog fight."

I will agree Fedor has let M-1 ruin his career. Fedor was never offered a fight with Cheatereem. He would have taken it easily. Yeah you don't get the hype because your a blind hater. Fedor is a LHW fighting in the HW division and has dominated more former champions than anyone you can think of. You can be a hater all you want but trying to discredit Fedor's career is an exercise in futility. He is one of if not THE most well rounded fighter that has ever fought in MMA.

Clearly you're knew to the sport. Fedor was the PRIDE HW champion and WAMMA HW champion also winning tournaments in Rings and PRIDE. And if he ever came to the UFC even losing multiple fights they would probably give him an immediate title shot to unify the PRIDE Championship he never lost.

^I am not new to the sport. Truth be told I paid more attention to the UFC since it first started, and when other orgs opened, I paid some attention to them(Pride, etc) but didnt give them much. Then when all the orgs got bigger, and when the UFC bought Pride, I was stoked to see more exciting fights. Fedor, however, wasnt part of the deal, n it made me wonder why such popular guy didnt make it. Then the whole M-1 business murked the guys career, imo, and he went in another direction.

I apolagize for talking down Fedor, I just didnt focus on him when he was kicking ass n taking names during the Pride days. I saw guys like Crocop, Rua, Overeem, Henderson, etc, they seemed to be more exciting to me.

Also, I just like to get under the skin of Rabid Fedor fans, and as much as I like to Irk ppl, I"ll stop cuz its pointless :)

Sorry guys, I'll grow up regarding Fedor, n will bite my tongue whenever his name comes up in the future.

Peace! XD

What.... the... fuck did we just witness?

Did someone just politely bow out of a debate? I am confused. Are we still on the internet?

You realize that when he was the WAMMA champ he had already beaten the top couple guys currently active in the UFC (Nog, Cro Cop, Herring) not to mention Sylvia and Arlovksi? And that the actual UFC HW champ (Randy) was trying to leave the UFC to go fight Fedor because even he recognized that Fedor was the true champ?

It still hurts my head to try and understand the reasoning behind people saying he should've joined the UFC around the time he was with Affliction.

I like this fight. This is the type of fighter Fedor should be going up against IMO. I can't believe these two haven't fought at any point in the past, that's amazing to me. Oh well, better late then never! Definitely looking forward to it.

Here is an article with some quotes from Cormier and Barnett about the upcoming bout:

“What are you going to do?” Barnett told ESPN.com. “Would you rather see [Emelianenko] not fight at all? At the end of the day, it’s not always up to Fedor. Don’t believe Pedro was the only guy asked.

“So, what’s the other option? How about he just sits around for another six months?”

Cormier voiced a similar opinion, stating that regardless of what opponent Emelianenko’s management group found, fans would likely find it disappointing.

“There’s just not that many guys who would be OK,” Cormier said. “If they said, ‘He’s fighting Rolles Gracie,” people would say he [Gracie] got beat by Joey [Beltran] and flushed out of the UFC. If it were Bobby Lashley, they’d say he’s just a pro wrestler who got beat by Chad Griggs.

“It’s always going to be something. The best guys are under the Zuffa umbrella. [Emelianenko] is not -- so he doesn’t have much to choose from.”
