to be a true mainstream sport. Chandler Jones (Jon Jones little brother) was just drafted in the first round by the New England Patriots and not one mention by ESPN was made about Jon, they only mentioned that Chandler had good blood lines because of his older brother Arthur. It was actually really surprising considering they showed the Jones family's reaction once he was drafted and they still made no mention of Jon, even though he was right there on camera. in a way it was kind of cool, because Jon Jones was just there like a regular guy happy for his younger brother. But then at the same time it was weird to see them not say a word about one of the most dominant professional athletes in the world right now. Non-MMA fans just saw one of the greatest LHWs ever and didnt even know it.

in other words, FUCK ESPN!

tell me about it! i'm a raiders fan so i could really care less about the first round of the NFL draft since we don't have one. the one thing i was honestly looking forward too was for MMA to get some love when chandler jones was drafted and.... NOTHING!

Of course he goes to the team I hate most in this world. Fuck the entire Jones family!

On topic: ESPN also annoys with their lack of coverage of MMA. That 2 hour FIrst Take show talks about stupid Tebow shit for half the show and can't even mention MMA once.

This isnt news.

ESPN has always done their best to keep MMA on the low. Whether its Sportscenter, PTI, or Around the Horn, they always find ways to troll, or just treat the sport itself like a ghost.

i remember 2 days after UFC 117 when Around the Horn was supposed to cover the event. When the announcer brought up the topic literally NO ONE had anything to say about the event because they were busy watching the hall of faming for baseball  .

Thats why i dont even watch ESPN unless its MMA Live. Its a shame, but what do you expect from 40-50 yr old men who havent fought a day in their lives???

whatever dude. it's just kind of sad that MMA isn't to the point where they would mention that a guy is the younger brother of the best American mixed martial artist. i mean it'd be one thing if jon wasn't there, but he was being shown on camera and they didn't say anything, it was weird. i mean they even mentioned his older brother arthur, who is a BACKUP on the ravens, yet didnt bring up that his other brother was one of the best martial artists on the planet.

i prefer the sport growing and having higher quality fighters over being able to feel "cool" because i like an "underground" sport....

for me it's not about feeling "cool" it's about not hearing the words ultimate fighting used in place of mixed martial arts and I don't want to have a conversation with some random guy that only knows the champs because they've been on t.v. every week because I'm wearing one of my Clinch Gear shirts
