Yeah, it doesn't have to look pretty, it just has to work!
Making it look good would help if you ever wanted more people to come train

Yeah, the idea is to get some semi-experienced guys to come it. Also, it was damp in one corner and the room was dark as a cave...plus the door and garage door were broken (door off frame and door with no tracks). The changes were really needed for my own safety and my training partners (it was a staph/bacteria/fungus breeding ground IMHO  ). So, if I'm gonna do it, I should do it right.

3 years ago it had light and nothing else but a heavy bag and some free weights, and I was fine with that, but now I need training partners. Also....this is really fun....I love it lol.

Yeah it is hard to train without a partner.

Building your own home gym from scratch sounds pretty badass. Good on ya for taking matters into your own hands, most ppl would just give up due to not being able to go to a gym and just let themselves get lazy as fuck.

I'm not sure this'll help you much but I recently picked up The Strength Training Anatomy Workout by Frédéric Delavier at the library out of curiosity and it's full of fairly comprehensive workouts using free weights and stuff. I've only flipped through it but I've seen a a few exercises that seem legit. If i find any that would be more helpful to your situation, I'll make sure to post them here. I expect most of them will be oriented more toward building muscle mass and/or bodybuilding but the book description did say there were specific sections dedicated to specific sports so maybe there will be something for martial arts in general.

The Garage is looking like a nice area already, btw. You've accomplished quite a bit in the little time between your first post and last update, hope everything is working smoothly and post another update soon. Best of luck to you.

Got it to working condition.

Just need to install wall padding and some carpet padding.
