Classy.

That's me, full of class. It's also classy of jon to do that, knowing full well he could end someone's career.

Since when does hyper-extending somebody's knee end their career? A push kick like that isn't powerful enough to cause a compound fracture. A torn ACL is much worse and that's what's up with GSP right now and his career is still going. Stop jumping to conclusions and over-reacting. It's a professional fight; these men know the risks when they step into the cage. Shogun suffered a way worse injury than what COULD HAVE HAPPENED when he fought Coleman and last I checked, he went on to become the LHW champion of the UFC.

On topic. I don't really see any way that Rashad wins this. There's nothing Rashad can do that Jones can't do better, or just as good. I could see giving Rashad the edge as far as wrestling because he is quite the stud when it comes to that, but I don't see him getting inside the long rangy anatomy of Jones. Jon has already shown his excellence in the striking category with his last 3 fights, and even his grappling. Submitting Jackson and Machida are no easy feats. The only other person to submit Jackson was Sakuraba in 2001. And Machida, he's never been submitted.

This thing with Rashad...I see it happen whenever there's a dominate champion. Any time Anderson has an upcoming fight, there's always some sort of reasoning as to why he'll lose. With Vitor it was his speed, with Okami it was his wrestling and the fact he trained with Chael. Same thing happens with GSP (With Shields, he was going to submit him with his so-called superior jiu-jitz), and now the same thing is happening with Jones. With Shogun, it was too early for him to get a title shot and he would get destroyed (and then when he won, oh no, "Shogun was injured!", even those he was 100%). And then with Jackson, he was going to get tagged while trying to do something flashy. I mean, the list just goes on and on and on with people rationalizing bullcrap reasons to satisfy their disdain for a certain champion making all their favorite fighters look bad. When will you people learn to stop being so bias? Evans WILL NOT WIN. He has no tools to offer Jones that he haven't already been offered before. Nothing is different about this fight. If rampage can't land a bomb, Evans won't land a bomb. Machida is the only one to land really clean on Jones and we saw what happened from there; he was still able to get his head together and land even cleaner on Lyoto to get the finish.

I say Jones Round 3 TKO. Though with Rashad's style, a submission in the 4th seems more likely.

Well I've seen it happen, Your point < My eyes, and that's the bottom line. I also never said Rashad would win. I'm just hoping he realizes how much talent Jones possesses, works harder than he ever has, and surprises us all.

Well, since you don't have any evidence to back up your claim, and I do...My Point > Your baseless claim

Shogun Rua is a tough bastard. That has been proven time and again and especially in his fight with Henderson, so it's annoying when Shogun fans whine about the little push kicks Jones gave him. Rua isn't fragile. He's a very tough professional fighter under contract in a dangerous sport getting hit by low impact LEGAL shots. He's been through worse and besides, nothing came of them, so what's the complaint? I could see people getting angry if Shogun actually got his leg broken, but the odds of that happening were very low and that claim is obviously supported by the fight itself. People need to move on.

I think watching these Primetimes often convince you fighter A has a chance when he really has none; Eg. Aldo vs mendes, rampage vs Jones. I believe this is the case here with Rashad.

smart on his part.
he has great wrestling, ko power in his feet and hands, and good cardio.
doesn't hurt to add some subs to the mix.

I think Rashad will score the takedown

leg lock
he should work on leg kicks i never see anyone attempting leg kicks on Jones
Rashad will win Via Sub

Funny to see Jones self-proclaiming about his chicken legs. Cuz they look like twigs about to break. Please let Jones fight Palhares...and Jones isnt allowed to punch or elbow :PP

I dont how his brain will help him when the better and technichal wrestler grabs a hold of him. I think technique would help him there but,... this should be interesting I hope they focus on shads training next time.

Didn't watch the full episode..But i understand what your saying. Great technique is far better than trying to use your brain when you are rocked..Hopefully Rashad is working on some Judo because Jones has some good throws from the clinch. This is a great test to Jon Jones in my opinion. Rashad getting betrayed by Greg Jackson, Jon Jones and also throwing in a divorce is going to have Rashad on his A game. Shit even my mom is going for Rashad. Jones is great but he needs to have a slice of humble pie before I ever root for him again.

I dont think Jons Judo will have any effect on Rashad bc he has a high level wrestling base. This isnt miesha vs ronda... Where miesha was just a highschool wrestler. Rashad is better so i feel like if he tries to sweep or trip rashad he'll take his back and snap him down or just take him down. It will be harder for Jon to throw Rashad bc he is shorter and has a lower center of gravity. The physical and technical advantages are against Jon in this fight when it comes throwing.

You said if Rampage cant land a bomb Rashad wont. Rashad is 3 times faster than page. And his head movement and technique is a lot better.

So that's the only thing you could pick out to argue about? Ok...well I suppose I'll retort.

Yes, that is what I said. Do I still agree with it despite you making up a multiplicative digit of Rashad's speed in terms of Rampage's? Yes. Rampage has a lot more power than Rashad. If you throw something fast, chances are it doesn't have a lot of power in it. That's why Rampage is generally slower than Rashad. He doesn't know how to throw anything but power. If you want to land a bomb on somebody, you usually have to plant your feet and throw your hips into it (unless of course the person is walking into your punch). Do I doubt Rashad can land punches? No. He is very fast indeed. But he's not going to be able to land a bomb. There's no way he can get inside Jones' reach, plant his feet, and then (even if he accomplished the previous 2 steps) actually make contact. Was Rashad's KO punch of Liddell fast? Oh yeah. But he was planted (as was Liddell) and Liddell's guard was down while throwing a wild uppercut. Rashad has never thrown and landed a bomb while he wansn't planted. It's not his style, and he doesn't know how. And I don't see Jones doing anything like Liddell did. I see Jones keeping his distance, kicking Rashad, and picking him apart, and quite possibly catching him as he's coming in.

When I said what I said, I wasn't speaking in terms of speed anyway. I was speaking in terms of styles. Rashad has a boxing style much like Rampage's. The difference is, Rashad uses side-to-side footwork more effectively and is more elusive. But other than that, they are very similar strikers. And with that kind of striking style, we saw how it matched up with Jones and Rampage. He couldn't get inside and got picked apart by kicks and straight punches. I say, the same thing will happen with Rashad. It's possible he will be able to open the striking up a bit more with the threat of a takedown, but not to the extent of a fight-finishing blow.

Nice move. Don't reply to any of the arguments that I posed towards you. Just reply to somebody who had a "counter-argument" and then insult me, but not directly to me, just in casual conversation, all the while doing nothing to prove your claim because you have nothing else to say. Touche my good sir, touche.

I guess I shall respond to you in a similar way and call you a "hater". That's what the cool kids do, right?

You dont have to plant your feet to land a hard "shot" Rashad ran at rampage and hit him. Rashad countered forest and phill and didnt plant his feet. Rashad has dynamite in his hands and his speed will help him generate more power... Machida never plants his feet and he is able to hurt people numerous amount of times. If shad hits him with a well placed shot Jon could go night night...Rampage being slow has nothing to do with him not knowing how throw fast punches it has more to do with the fact he has bad footwork he is flatfooted. Rashad is light on his feet when he needs to be and is very exploseive. He will be able to tag bones ... He has tagged all of his opponents numerous amount of times in the fights he has won.

This will be jones toughes defense of his title. Jones doesnt have the power to KO Rashad at any given time so it will have to be an accumulation of shots that add up in order to slow or stop Rashad. Jones is very good at delivering serious damage over just a few rounds...but Rashad wont be standing in front of Jones taking those front kicks like Shogun. Had Shogun utilized better side to side movement he wouldve avoided alot of those power shots jones threw to the midsection etc. Shogun was maybe alrdeady hurt...but when he got trapped on the cage for even a couple seconds or when just backing staight up that is where jones does work. But Rashad will b making Jones adjust and work constantly along with I would imagine alot of grappling. We could see Jones slow a bit in deeper rounds. Rashad clearly has more striking power so he may just be able to land some big shots as he did against Davis. He hit davis with some bombs. Davis just didnt show it because he is a tough dude. I think we will see in this Jones fight if Jones has the ability to absorb the amount of shots that Rashad will hit him with. I wouldnt put money on Rashad but theres seems to be something about Rashad that scares Jones. 8)
