No Zuffa? No Problem!

Postby Loyalty13 » Sun Apr 01, 2012 6:05 pm

A lot went down in the mma world over the weekend, even without a Zuffa event.

Houston vs Yvel @ RFA 2: not much to really say, video below.

Dakota Cochrane, now notorious for his roles in homosex movies, and fresh off losing in the TUF 15 prelims fights, proves to be just a little too comfortable with a dude on his back.

"it just felt right, so i didnt try to get him off my back. Then i was asleep" - Not an actual quote by Cochrane

EX UFC HW Champ, Maurice smith returned to cage at age 50 vs some undersized, terrible guy. But come on, Smith is fucking 50, give the guy a break. Plus his opponent was said to also be a kickboxing champ ( ). If you get bored, skip ahead to 16:00 for an epic finish.

karo Parysian beat thomas denny by UD. I have not been able to find a video yet, but am glad to see him stop his losing skid

Mccorkle headlined WMMA and apparently had a rough night.

In the main event, McCorkle -- who was on a six-fight win streak since his UFC release -- couldn't handle the overwhelming leg-kick attack of Brian Heden, who went on to wear down "Big Sexy" en route to a technical knockout victory in round two.

Pete spratt scored an epic KO at some amazonian fight thingy.

Cote got a nice win, in what some linkers are calling " THE WORST STOPPAGE IN MMA HISTORY!"

This is a weekend I will always remember as "Rise of the Cans".

All I want to see is Jadamba Narantungalag's latest fight and I haven't found it yet.
Sigbet: Hunt (me) vs JDS (jojo)
Account bet: Anderson (Me) vs Weidman (biscuits69)
Now that we're gettin somewhere, you know we got to give back. For the youth is the future no doubt that's right and exact. Squeeze the juice out of all the suckers with power. And pour some back out, so as to water the flowers.

OneFC was actually pretty good. The fact that I spent almost 4 hours at work watching it made it all the more sweet. Some good fighters over there. A couple I would say may make it to the big time.
Anger he smiles towering in shiny metallic purple armour
Queen jealousy, envy waits behind him
Her fiery green gown sneers at the grassy ground
Blue are the life giving waters, taken for granted
They quietly understand

First is there anybody in the world that didn't no houston was going to be knocked the fuck out.hes lucky a fan didn't ko him on the way to the cage.and smith is a bad ass dude.i never liked him or his style. until about 10 min ago when i watched his latest fight. real talk hes a great competitor not a contender, but still able to push him self beyond what his body should be able to do. that in my opinion is a true athlete.

I only saw the Laursen/Folayang fight and the Manhoef fight. Both were good though. Manhoefs leg...holy hell.

how was Cote's win a bad stoppage? Even if the dude was unaffected by the punches, he let to many get off in that 5 seconds. Cote just did a speed-bag drumroll on his dome without a normal defensive response in any form, so... quick stoppage, but the ref can say "intelligently defending himself" as the reason.

It must have been sarcasm because I can't see how anyone would call that an early stoppage. Watching the KO'd fighter, you can see his right arm go low and stiff several times while he was lying flat on his back and getting pummeled.

This who thread has to be sarcasm, because it mentioned a fight with Thomas Denny as notable, and not notably bad. He was the only MMA fighter that made the bully look good on Bully Beatdown...
