ultimate fighting or ultimate horseplaying

Postby time2getreal » Thu Mar 29, 2012 1:49 am

im tired of seeing fight with obvious unspoken/secret stipulations (ie no ground game, no ground game standup only), fighters who show mercy and dont go or the kill, prize fighters beinng protected by fake injuries (diverticulitis? are you kidding me), by refs bad/early stoppage in favor of big names, judges creating ambiguous criteria for controversy, fake animosity being created to sell fights, and danas personal vendettas keeping real talent from the ufc, barnett, fedor, how can someone deny the best to compete, this is a ridiculous no holes barred monopoly that is becoming more enterntainmnent based similar to wwe. is this justme? if so why?

Fedor the best to compete? Don't get me wrong but he is clrealy talented but the best to compete in the HW is a little silly, sure he could beat some, and I mean some HW but he wouldn't crack the top 5.

im actually kinda glad u made this thread, i personally cant stand all the lobbying for title shots and trash talking for media hype. it makes me feel like the bushido spirit in mma is slowly dieing from seppuku. If u want to be a entertainer and hype a crowd go to WWE or Impact. MMA is supposed to be a sport of respect and honor

I have a couple problems with your post. First and foremost, diverticulitis is an actual disease...and i'm not even a Brock Lesnar for anything, that's just a fact. How were they protecting him?

Second of all, the judges don't create the "ambiguous criteria" you speak of, they interpret them. Yes they do make choices most people would disagree with fairly often but this is a much bigger problem then judges simply pulling ambiguous criteria out of their asses.

and lastly, what do you mean by fighters who show mercy and don't go for the kill. Are you referring to guys who lay and pray? or are you referring to guys who hurt their opponents but don't go for finish out of pity? if it's the latter (which is what your wording sounds like) i'd love some examples.

Also, personally i could care less about the production changing, the fighters creating or not creating animosity to sell fights and the whole "mma is becoming too entertainment based, it's not pure anymore" thing so long as the fights themselves are still good. If you don't like all the fluff then don't watch all the interviews and stick to only watching the fights. No one's forcing you to watch the press conference and read fighter tweets. Just buy the fucking pay per views or log on to linker on fight night, watch the fights and ignore everything else.

valesquez vs dos santos, cain took a dive
cro cop sold his soul and was definition of puppet
barnett, easily top 5, is denied to compete out of spite
werdum vs overeem completely staged, no damage done to protect rep of overeem for branding power
who has gsp beaten? seriously
sonnen couldnt beat silva on roids, thinks he can now? why?
etc.

Wow. That's just wow.

JDS won because Cain was simply too slow and rusty. Hadn't been in the cage in quite sometime. Quite possibly underestimated JDS as well.

Do you honestly believe that Cro Cop would agree to come into the UFC just to take dives and be Dana's bitch? I don't fucking think so.

Pretty sure that Barnett being denied has more to do with getting nailed for roid use over and over again.

There was no damage done to Reem in that fight because Werdum insisted on laying on his back in hopes of Overeem coming to him for a nice hug.

GSP has beaten EVERYBODY.

To be honest though...I haven't the slightest clue what the hell Sonnen is thinking that he can beat Silva at this point.

So with the exception of the Sonnen fight I simply don't see the fiasco that you're so sure exists.

Seriously?

Everything that the OP has said is just complete idiocy. Please, for the love of God, don't talk about MMA in public, you're going to pollute would-be fans with this garbage.
