Palacio de Deportes, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic - Thousands of fans were shocked when former world champion Nate Campbell knocked out local hero Victor Cayo in eight rounds. The 40-year-old American veteran dominated the fight with his experience and smart boxing.

Cayo had some good moments in rounds three and four, but then Campbell returned fire to put him down in the fifth and nearly finished him off. Campbell continued to punish Cayo until the eight round, when the referee waved off the fight to prevent the local star from taking any more damage. Cayo was on his feet when the fight was stopped.

The win improves Campbell's record to 35-9-1, with 26 knockouts, while Cayo fell to 27-3, 19 KOs.
