“I know the real Jon, the nervous kid who would ask me to tell him how to dress, how to talk, and how to fight. I know how he reacts when things don’t go his way, how he can’t handle it mentally… And I’ve been through these types of pressure fights. I’ve been in these situations where emotions are involved with my fights with guys like (Michael) Bisping and Rampage (Jackson). But I’m in a different environment, I knew I had to learn, had to mix things up, and I had to change. Jon has no idea what I will do on the night. He can talk about improvements he’s made, but there are still some things in his game he can never change. He’s a long, rangy fighter and I’m going to get inside, unleash my stuff, take him down and ground and pound him. I’m at a level in my career where I can take down and ground and pound anyone. He’s not Jon Jones ‘unbeatable champion’ to me. I know I will beat Jon Jones.”

Yeah, confidence can be huge in a big fight like this. I really hope Rashad can beat Jones. He does seem pretty unbeatable right now. But we haven't seen him against a great wrestler like Rashad.

I still don't think Rashad can actually beat Jones, but his confidence is inspiring.

The question is if he really believes it, or is he just doing his job to sell the fight. Fully knowing what used to go on during their time training together, I can tell you that Rashad knows Jones is far better than he is and that his chances are slim. :lol:

i think with the gameplan he said he desires to use he can definitely do it.

Jones is much faster than Phil Davis, but their body structure is almost the same, minus phil davis not having chicken legs.
If shad puts the pressure on he should come off ontop.

As much as I would like Rashad to actually pull off what he is saying i highly doubt it. Aside from the physical advantages Jones has on him Jones also has Jackson. And Jackson trained Rashad for like 6 years, so he probably knows exactly what to prepare Jones for. A good trainer sees both the holes in your game and your good attributes, Jackson spending so much time with Rashad is definetely a huge advantage for Jones.

I think Rashad is a dick. However, maybe the way to beat Jones is to get inside his head. I always thought he wasn't as confident as he makes out by the way he acts at staredowns.

This is the first time im actually ever rooting for Rashad to win. That being said I think rashad could get him down but I don't think he will be able to keep him there. Jones tko rnd 2
