UFC undisputed 3 vs EA MMA

Postby seb » Sat Mar 17, 2012 2:50 am

I bought the latest ufc game just the other week and only just started playing it and i'm not imprezzed with iz performanz.
it is clearly a game for wrestlers to dominate, 3 hammerfists from side control and you're rocked, submissions are nigh impossible and stand up is rubbish. It takes about 100 leg kicks to take someone down via leg kicks and yet GnP is so powerful, I can remember the last time I saw a fight ended with leg kicks, but last PURE GnP must have be good old coleman.
The technical side of it is also a joke! The characters still move with much fluidity and you can't block transitions and GnP simulatenously.

Sorry for the rant, but feel quite ripped off and was wondering how many others shared my views

kind regards

i think the game is pretty epic, the submissions are fair, the ground game is fine, reversals are great, the spamming of elbows in side control just got patched, you just probably suck at it... keep practicing!

I've played both, and Ea takes the cake. Though the newest ufc game is a lot better than the last, Ea was just fluid and worked well. Best part about both games are the amazing glitches. Ghost Ko's in Ea are epic.

Yeah
EA MMA still the best mma game so far in my opinion. Although the ground game maybe a little more technical in UFC... submissions allot better this year (taking note from EA MMA).

If you could combine the graphics, animation, online and standup from EA MMA, with the ground game and license of UFC Undisputed... You would have a fucking awesome game.

EA MMA online was flawed because of players being able to switch between control schemes (button/stick), so much that they had to introduce an "exhaustion" nerf to limit button hook spamming  . However, in general it was great... belts, events with commentary, special guests, quick matchups etc.
UFC online was flawed because of quitting, not able to get matchups.

That s*** ruined the game IMO. Before, you could throw 10+ hooks just fine, now if you throw and miss two, you're at 50% stamina, and if they parry it, you're at 0%. Granted, stamina regens much quicker now, but it's still retarded. I play the unpatched version solely because of this. Don't have live anymore anyway so IDGAF.

also wtf is a ghost ko glitch

I haven't really played UFC 3, but EA MMA seems way too easy. My guy is 33-0 and has been the SF champion for the past 20+ fights.

I haven't bought UFC 3, I was planning on buying it but I just couldn't do it. I know I'll hate using the button's for the same repetitive strikes that all look the same from different individual fighters and since UFC refuses to adopt the analog stick for striking from Fight Night and EA MMA I know I will get bored, fast, with the game. EA still needs a lot of work too but its still probably better than the button-smashing crap the UFC puts out for a video game.

Ufc game is more awkward and robotic then rock' em sock em' robots.

I used to think Ea Mma was just meh, until I tried playing it against friends offline. This game is amazing! Me & my friends regularly do tournament style nights with some beer/weed & it's great fun.

For me the difference is the organic feel that ea mma has + the fluidity in making combos & being able to do what ever combo you feel like doing, just wish they had more fighters.

Too bad they wont be making an ea mma 2 :(
Wanderlei silva gets a facelift, Chuck enters a ballroom dancing contest...... What the fuck is this!!! Bizarro world? What's next? Don Frye's homo sexual sex tape? Gsp starts speaking in fluent english? Tim Sylvia becomes likeable?

they are still better and every one of them have glitches or things that ruin them

UFC: ground game reversals are a bit awkward or the timing, transitions are no longer auto blocked so TS practice at not sucking  , clinch is easier to defend and get out of, what i hate the most is that leg kicks get catched and you can defend the TD but knees give the opponent an automatic TD, rock and sock em feel

EA MMA: more fluid striking but some punches completely miss even though they are close to the opponent like body shots, ko's that happen without the punch touching your head, ground game is a disaster where you need to spam the body to transition, the AI on legend is basically impossible to choke out so you have to always go for limb subs, parries just a horrible and bad idean

I've been hooked on EA MMA Since it came out. It's far more fluid than Undisputed, which feels way too much like rock em sock em' robots.

Undisputed has been improving with every installment though, but until they switch to a control scheme for striking something similar to EA's, the game will never feel like you're actually in a fight.

I found both games to be really annoying online, as everybody always tries to exploit the same glitches and tricks to win.
It just becomes really annoying fighting against the same style over and over again.

Anyways, to sum it all up EA MMA is better.
Fighters.
Rory MacDonald, Condit, Mayhem, Anderson Silva, Franklin, Wand, Nogueira's.

UFC3 is much better than 2010, but I agree.. The TKO's are fucking garbage. They put too much power into the hammer fists, elbows and side mount positions. When my friends and I play online, we agree not to do TKO's cause it's such a pussy way out.. When you have someone rocked on the ground we either sub them or make them stand up and get KTFO.

I had the demo for EA MMA, but wasn't too happy with the overall performance of it. After reading some of the comments, I'll have to give it another try.

EA MMA is terrble... UFC 3 standup is excellent.. the only thing they ruined was the subs... the shine felt real this mini-game bs makes you feel completely detached from the fight.

The people who are saying EA MMA is better than any UFC game or even being accidently castrated from a hot lap dancer's heels while she's shaking her money maker in your face are just the same idiots that hate Jon Jones, hate Dana, hate the UFC because it's the best org in the world. They want to act 'alternative' & claim to be the 'real' MMA fans because they only watch old Pride video's on Youtube & know what a guillotine choke is. In Ea MMA the fighter's glide across the mat without even changing motion, the punches are slow, kicks - slow, submission's terrible, you can hold a guy down all fight since the block & reverse time is ages, every fighter has the same shitty move besides Cung Le, half the guys look like shit it's just a heavily flawed wreck.

Actually training MMA > UFC Games > Having a terminal illness > Ea MMA.
