I was showing a co worker of mine an Anderson Silva HL reel on youtube. He doesn't watch mma or know too much about its roster post Tito's hay day era.
Either way, I got me thinking as to why the UFC doesn't talk about the heart of Anderson like they do for Frankie Edgar. I know that the LW division is short on PPV draws and needs something but still the heart shown in the Sonnen fight was amazing. Personally, I thought that Anderson was sandbagging the fight due to just how long of a step up that was for the triangle, I meant that was like demonstration slow. That's just my take, but wither way knowing that you're losing a fight for 4 rounds with little significant offense and to pull that off is incredible.
This lack of acknowledging the guts and will it took is completely by passed the UFC and I think on purpose. Hell, Sonnen was walking around with a belt and NO ONE (meaning Dana and other UFC guys) said anything. That's like a white belt rolling or sparing with a black belt and some how nothing getting sub until the last moments then walking around with a black belt you're self. Its disrespectful. Don't believe me, just try doing that someday and tell me how it works out for you.
I heard a 20 minute interview with Rampage and Bas. Rampage was talking about how the UFC match making does that to certain fighters. Listen here for yourself

I kinda dont like the direction that the UFC is going in. They have the mass media advantage because so many people dont really know about it so they just have to take the word of the suits and having "personalities" like Sonnen is entertaining sometimes but it could go the way of the NFL(T.O.).
Screw Joe Silva and just have brackets. The best fighters will fight and create stars that way. I feel that every current UFC champion would still be the champ with it was done this way.
