Sorry but I cant stand Clay Guida the drunken chimp. If it wasn't for the Edgar Maynard soap opera he would have got it and probably won the title then. Frankie needs to get off this rematch crap. I totally agree with rematches when their is a controversial decision. But there wasn't one, he got beat fair and square. And as far as Miller or Diaz. I think after Diaz beats Miller he should definitely get the winner of Pettis Henderson. Even if Miller pulls a win out of his butt i still don't think he deserves a shot yet. Gilbert is very happy where he is right now. Hes the champ and there really isn't anyone in strikeforce to threaten his reign. He knows that if he moved to the u.f.c. he wouldn't hold that title ever. Eventually we are going to get to watch Pettis and Diaz for the title. I for one cant wait.
There's just so many things wrong with this post I don't know where to start. First of all Guida is awesome and not "that weird guy". Dude is a grinder and probably the most exciting lightweight fighter in the sport today. Puts his heart on the line every single time he fights and I dig it.
As far as Diaz and Miller goes, I agree Miller definitely has some climbing to do especially because Henderson wrecked his ass pretty bad last summer. If Diaz wins he should get that number three slot absolutely. Miller wins then he's got more work to put in that's for damn sure.
I'll also disagree with you that Gil is happy in SF. He's expressed his desire to make his debut in the UFC since the purchase and he's got no challengers. For a competitive world champ like Melendez that's not a very good sign. Holding onto a title because you've earned it is one thing. Holding onto it because there's literally nobody to fight is quite another. It's my opinion that Zuffa is literally pissing away one of the world's most talented fighters and not using him in their own promotion to keep a dead company on life support. It's not fair to Gil, the fans, Strikeforce or the UFC
