I really don't see how this fight helps Ellenberger, to me its a step back in competition. Jake just blasted Shields who is much higher ranked than Diego. Anyway, Jake will smash Sanchez.

Shield is higher ranked but for people who only watch UFC (not me), Diego is a much bigger name and more impressive win because they don't know shit.

That's not what I think but for a casual fan they would know Diego much better he won TUF and fought BJ. I think Diego is the most overrated fighter in the UFC. Hate to break it to you but most people don't watch strikeforce and probably have no clue Shields beat Henderson. Like I said before UFC casual watchers not me or what I think.

I think Ellenberger is taking this fight because he was asked to. He seems like a "fight whoever they put in front of you" kinda fighter, and I think Dana knows this fight should be fireworks. If anything, Ellenberger takes out a well known, UFC fan favorite in Diego. My man is stealin da tunda!!!

I can see that but it looks like Dana would give him a higher ranked guy, unless they are all fighting soon.

Sonnen is a love or hate type dude. He has a lot of fans mostly because a lot of ppl hate Silva. But, he's also one of the most hated as well. I hate him.

I like Diego's enthusiasm and fighting spirit. And yeah, he is one weird ass motherfucker.

Diego has much better striking and takedowns than Shields, but I think Ellenberger would still take it mostly due to a size advantage, he's a big boy. I was kinda indifferent to Jake before, but he destroyed Shields, (who in UFC has shown an ability to lay on opponents and weakly jab when standing up) so he's alright in my estimation.

I would say the Diaz/BJ winner gets a title shot. If Ellenberger beats Diego then I think he should get Fitch for the #1 spot.

If he beats Diego that will be 6 in a row. I doubt they would risk him losing before getting a title shot. BJ/Diaz MIGHT get the next title shot, but i guarantee if BJ and GSP win their next fights, BJ ain't getting no title shot. Diaz is in the dog house so it wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't get it either with a win. That is assuming by some miracle he beats Penn.
