p90X

What do people think of this - I have seen some family members change dramatically on this - but they didn't have the nutrition charts and I wonder just how ripped they could have got.

Has anyone here used it and do you think it is a good work out for MMA?

it's a serious program with serious results.....no bs just results.....best over the counter program I've ever seen. I've used it and I have a six pack I did four months and literally could knock on my arms like wood. I did motify it though... I added in tae bo advanced cardio videos....just push hard add extra snap/punches or even weights to your body and those videos will make you work. I also added olympic lifts for power... did three miles runs for time, and did 45 min of stretching using gymnastics techniques. But did it work yes, I owned a guy I could only tie in grappling in the past. Then I went on to hold my own against heavyweights and I am bantum yep, 135. I turn 30 next week so for my birthday present to myself I am doing another cycle of P90x and bulking 10 lbs. 145 is the goal. moving up to feather weight. LW is a little too thick for a 5' 7.5" guy I was 150 once and felt slower.

In brief P90X (if you add to it like I did) will work. It will get you in great shape...but there are things a fighter should be doing as well....sport specific training. P90X should be used for overall fitness then add things you need.

This dude sounds like he works for P90x. I also saw this video and wonder if it works. 75% of the BS you see on TV is crap. I would like to see some pictures.

I'm 36 years old, 240 6'1, I bet it would kick my ass to just keep up with it...

They do it at the gym I train at. I can say that I see results in the people that are doing it. Big results at that. I havent started and am in no ways affiliated with p90x but looking at the guys that I train with, it works.

No BS, it does work. Now, instead of buying it just find a torrent and torrent download it, then find theprogram and schedule and do it right to find out for yourself. Whether it is free or paid for it works regardless. I generally laugh off a bunch of these programs, but this one is by far the most legit. I've seen myfriends drop weight and get abs withen 9 weeks, andI went from 215 to 182 in 6.

Now considering fight shape, I'd say stick with the program they suggest for athletes, whichis the regualr video a day schedule with The cardio video thrownin every other day. I'm doing that along with a little Road work, and a lot of grappling and sparring. Every no and thenI'llthrow in "The Pit" series as a filler

The diet book is also top notch.

Videos I give 9.5/10 (Right up there with The Pit workout)
Schedule 8.5/10 (Does require stuff everyday, but ifyou like to stay ft, it shouldnt be to troublesome)
Diet plan 10/10 Off the chain diet plan

Overall it's great, and the hardest thing to get used to is Tony horton. I'd evengo asfar as the plyo video being twice as difficult for myself than any Pit Video.

My friend has done this and it worked for him. I tried it with him for a lil bit and I was sore as a mo'fo' after two days. I had to stop cuz some personal stuff popped up but I'm actually looking into getting my own.

Just wondering if anybody else has tried it since the last time anybody posted on here...

I did P90x in late 2008. I did it just to get back in shape to start martial arts again.
I like it because it is a very balanced program. You don't really get SUPER dramatic results, but as a whole your fitness will make a lot of improvements. You will build strength, power, balance, flexbility (Stretching and yoga being thrown in), etc...

I moved on to Insanity afterwards, and I've been doing workouts from Insanity: The Asylum. I personally prefer these to p90x because they are more cardio heavy, but P90x is definitely good. The sequel P90X^2 is coming out in December. I've seen a few previews. It looks pretty good.
