Olympians in MMA

Postby TheHumanoidTyphoon » Mon Jul 30, 2012 10:04 pm

We've seen Olympic level wrestlers and judokas in MMA I'd personally like to see an Olympic level boxer (probably will never happen) and just for fun an Olympic level power lifter compete in MMA

Your thoughts please

olympic boxing sucks to watch, yes there are a few who will make it big time pro but the rules and scoring system suck.

Yea there was like one finish and it wasn't great. I enjoyed the display of technique. I really wanted to see the judo... At least someone was kind enough to show us some sweet highlights.

I saw the boxing today too.

Olympic boxing is far more exciting than pro boxing. Olympic boxers go at it every second of every round. pro boxers dont do that at least not till the last few rounds.

Powerlifting is not an Olympic sport.
LA SANGRE , my fellow linker, betting against you and BJ Penn was the most stupid Idea of the year. I should have known better that a TUF alumn like Sanchez will never have the skills to defeat BJ.

All I know is some little bitty girl lifted an ass load. I would love to see her in the 125 pound class in the UFC. I could see her tossing around some of those dudes. Or just smashing their faces.

When i did my personal training course, our strength and conditioning lecturer was the national olympic weightlifting coach and we did tons of olympic weight lifting things, it is EASILY an olympic sport. It takes just as much, if not more training than just about every other event.

Events that shouldnt be an olympic event are: Walking, equestrian, sync swimming, badmitton, TKD, BMX, Mountain bike, trampoline and rythmic gymnastics.

Whats the difference? i dont see powerlifting in the events or weightlifting catagories, thought you meant olympic.

The only power lifting i can think of is worlds strongest man shit, which i agree isnt an olympic sport.
