Nate Diaz is your next lightweight No. 1 contender. UFC president Dana White confirmed at Saturday night's UFC on FOX 3 post-event press conference that Diaz did indeed earn a shot at the 155-pound title with his win over Jim Miller. And while there were reports that Anthony Pettis might still stand in Diaz's path to a title shot, White said Diaz was offered and agreed to stay on the sidelines until he can face the winner of Benson Henderson vs. Frankie Edgar II, w

pettis gets no love

his big one fight win streak?

pettis is on a 2 fight win streak, i think?
and fuck the Clay Guida fight.

Watch Pettis get promised the shot after Nate but he'll decide to take a fight against Maynard in the meantime and end up losing his guaranteed title shot....AGAIN.

good call forgot about stephens. lame ass fight though.

Now there is indeed a fun fight. But Nate should be smart. Sit back, be patient, and get some film on his next opponent. Really, there's no need to rush, look what happened to Pettis and Grispi. Nate has his ticket punched, he should be smart about this.

I thought the wrestling would make Miller a strong favorite. I was wrong. Nate fought very well. I have to echo some others here. While I don't care for the stockton attitude (seems like they go through life angry all the time), I thought Nate put on an incredible performance. My hat's off to him and his team. Looking forward to that title fight.

Grispi would've died if he fought ALDO!!! Probably a smart move on Grispi's behalf and Pettis probably would've got wrestleowned by Edgar. Also Diaz Should wait just bc Nate has nothing to gain by fighting Pettis he already beat a guy who on paper is a bad match up for him .... Tho Pettis could do a Carlos Condit gameplan I think Diaz has earned it Pettis should fight edson barboza or melvin guillard if he wins his next fight. Damn Frankie and his controversial fights!!

Nothing lame about the Stephens fight. Pettis wanted to show that he improved his wrestling and he did. That fight shouldn't have been a split decision at all. Anthony clearly won every round.

Anyway, as much of a Pettis fan I am, I think Nate is clearly the #1 contender now.

Congratz to Diaz, he's on the doorstop of a title shop. Can't believe he finished Miller. I would've lost my house

I believe dana stated if nate wins this one he gets the title shot if he wants it, and he def won in impressive fashion so i think he 100% deserves it

Damn he has gotten so much better over the years can't wait to see him fight again
