I don't see how the majority of my thread themes involving Shogun is an issue - the actual content of the threads is what should be taken in to consideration. I happen to think this thread poses a very interesting question.

To be honest, so did the Shogun/remember thread.

Fair enough. I just don't see how Brock running through faded Heath Herring, faded Randy Couture who he outweighed by close to 50 pounds, probably more, Mir, and Carwin who simply gassed epicly is even considered against Shogun's GP run. To be honest, I can't think of any single event where one fighter performed so well.

:!: +! You are seeing this whole situation correctly sir. He knows you know. He is playing coy.

Lesnar's best streak was the streak in his shorts when Overeem knee'd him in the diverculitis.

This isn't relevant to the question at hand though - we're not comparing entire careers (well really, I guess it practically IS Lesnar's entire career), just this specific string of wins.

Also, shame on the OP for making such a blatant Shogun/Brock attack thread. This site is turning to shit rather quickly.

this thread is *NOT* a bashing thread, no matter how much you want it to be - if you want to feed on drama please find a different website.

Grow up dudes your opinion on MMA really doesn't matter and Shogun not deciding to fight a nobody (not saying Glover isn't tough) isn't that big of a deal. When Glover beats a name he will quickly rise to the top and fight the Shogun's/Henderson's of the division until then there is nothing wrong with a guy earning his stripes.

get out of my thread.

Bullshit this isn't a shogun bashing thread, view your sig.

Jones' recent wins easily blow that one away - granted, it was over a period of a year rather than FOUR MONTHS, which is huge. I think the thing that makes it closer is how green Lesnar technically was going in to those bouts, Herring wasn't exactly in his prime but was still a teetering top 15 opponent with a ton of experience. The Mir, Carwin and Randy wins were all good - Overeem also gassed pretty quickly against Shogun, it happens.

Thats highly debatable. When Shogun destroyed Rampage, Page was in his prime. It was way before he did the A-team and way before he quit caring about fighting. Also Shogun is nowhere near his 2005 form. After multiple knee surgeries he is simply not the same fighter he was in 2005 (I am not making excuses for him, thats just a fact). Machida and Evans are good, quality wins. When Shogun dominated Lil Nog, Arona, Rampage and Reem they were all top 10 ranked LHW's and were in their primes.

Lesnar fought an aging Herring, over the hill Couture, a way out of his prime Mir and Carwin. I think Shogun's 2005 run is better than Jones or Lesnar's. Plus you have to add in the fact that Shogun beat Overeem and Arona in one night. Something Jones and Lesnar have never done.

People who think Rampage was in his prime at the time Shogun fought him were obviously not watching at the time the fight happened.
