you cant really look at the shields fight... hendo had a bad back and this was the fight hendo felt his age. this is why hes not eager to return to 185. Rogan said it best, age can creep in anytime and you can just wake up feeling old. Hendo acknowledges to make 185 he can no longer just simply take huge water cuts and thats exactly what he did for shields and with his age his body just cant handle it. like other bigger fighters hendo now has to diet down closer to 185 then cut small amt of water weight , something hes not seemingly wanting to do(guess the dude likes his real food). shields is a good wrestler, and was also weighing 200 or more for this fight. if you remember at the presser the lined up the 6 fighters for this card, where shields was noticeably bigger than all except for mousasis height. shields looked the same size or bigger than mo for crying out loud. this was when shields was even contemplating going to lhw.
its a bad fight for hendo tho....jones is gonna go thru camp and get drilled into him to keep his distance and use his length. there gonna drill into jones to not get into crazy exchanges with hendo which would be his chance. the grappling aspect will be interesting. ive been saying it for a year, seeing jones vs another greco guy would be very interesting. jones has destroyed/negeted every wrestler hes fought so far bc there freestyle( why people chose bader and rashad are beyond me....jones uses his reach to make these guys shoot from too far out to be effective)....hendo also being greco it will be interesting when they clinch.
