Agreed. That is why I buy knock off jersey's that are made just as good as the real thing but for 10% of the price. Come at me big business.

Like i said before, i assume you have no mobile phone. The minerals used to make any Mobile phone come from Kongo Mines where children are working in horrible conditions. Do you support that? I assume you dont, but you'll fund it anyway. yes I have a cell phone and it is my only phone. However, I don't toss it as soon as a newer, sleeker, sexier one comes out; I keep them until they die (which is usually caused by me being pushed into a pool).

So you fund child labor in Kongo Mines? You animal!! A guy who funds child labor in Kongo Mines criticizes a guy who takes money from Nike!!!

See how easy it is to put a negative shitty spin on it. Stop trying to act like your Jesus or something, walking round in sandals and a Nokia 3210, just so you have some sort of high ground here.

But you were the one firing shots weren't you? Then it comes to light that you live some super saint lifestyle apparently, not funding any companies involved in bad working conditions, and keeping phones for as long as possible because it breaks your heart to fund phone companies. Do i believe you? Or do i assume your just trying to justify a shot at a fighter? Mmmmnn.

Cant we just take the positive impact of this news? That the sport we are here for is growing.

But you were the one firing shots weren't you? A "shot" that has merit (as evidenced by some of the posts in this threadThen it comes to light that you live some super saint lifestyle apparently, not funding any companies involved in bad working conditions, and keeping phones for as long as possible because it breaks your heart to fund phone companiesYou rushed to call me a hypocrite because, I assume, you agree with me but find it much easier to scream "hater" than face the fact that, perhaps, this deal represents some of the truly backwards attitudes we embrace in this beautiful capitalistic society of ours. I am glad you headed my plea for Jones fans to "come at me", though.

What I do agree with is that if ever there was a time to anoint the "greatest" in a sport (Nike makes a habit of endorsing the greats), it is now.

I did "Come at you" and to be fair i agree with your ideals. We have a society where its hard to even avoid products with some type of negative impacts to others, or the earth. But to say "Jones needs to go to the sweatshops if he takes the Nike deal" is kinda weird when you (in some cases) support the same type of companies. You took a shot at Jones when society is to blame, not him. It was a cheap shot in my opinion.

^^

That is completely valid. It was definitely a tongue-in-cheek remark that wasn't directed at the man but the system that makes makes this all possible.

That's fair enough. I hope in the future, big brands like Nike eliminate any bad working conditions, as they have been pressured to do, and have tried to make adjustments in. Its the smaller companies we also need to worry about as well though, with no pressure from congress to make changes.

Honestly, im not a Jones fan. I like his fights, but he's fake humble. I like the news though, its good for mma.

Great to see that some people can avoid or abandon extreme rhetoric and find common ground. A large amount of arguments on linker get ever more absurd add they progress because people try to win am argument at all costs, not carrying for fairly representing the opposing side or what they, themselves really believe. But then I've seen JD1 and ansell argue fairly with others before. Just wanted to point it out. (though in the middle there I wanted to freak out and jump in).

It is nice to find common ground. To be fair i was the aggressor, i apologise. I got a little carried away. And sometimes debating in text can come across differently than how it was intended.

You do realize that, those knock offs are made under even worse condition than the ones companies like Nike use. As bad as the manufacturing plants are, they still have certain standards to live by. The manufacturing plants that make knock offs have no standard to live by.

I'd have thought he was sponsored by Bud light and Bentley in a co-op. Perhaps he can go drunk drive a car into a lamp post with Nike kicks on and the slogan "just do it".

Some might say it's pretty distasteful of Nike to reward drunk driving, but then again a child laboring moloch of a company is the kind of company you can expect this shit from. Yeah, talk all the shit you want about someone saying it. You can hardly blame individual consumers about every minute purchase, since you can't avoid such things even if you tried. That still doesn't mean a billion grillion dollar company doesn't need to be called out on it.

No one debated calling Nike out. By all means, call them out.
