Great analyst! I've trained MT, BJJ and now I'm strictly a boxer. The main reason I converted to boxing was because of wrestlers. I'm 6'2 and weigh 185 - 200, but have had an 160 wrestler dominate me on the ground. Wrestlers aren't necessarily strong (but they're not weak either), but have such a good base it's very difficult to get them off of you unless of course you too are a wrestler. What I'm saying is it's easier said than done ,and a lot of people don't realize how hard it is to get back to your feet. Now imagine if you had an Olympic wrestler on you

Where did you come up with that wrestlers arent strong?

haha, i guess i should've specified. it wasnt like BOOM and i was up but i was able to transition with not too much difficulty and get into a better if not advantageous position. I havent had much" official" training. But i'm friends with someone who is and i've been friends with, as stated, with a few good wrestlers throughout the years, I dont think i'm bad, or very well versed, i just know where i dont want to be and i know that i will do whatever i can to, as efficiently as possible get out of it as fast as possible.

Yes. The crucifix comes to mind, as does mount with grape vines. There's some freaky 10th Planet JJ shit that leaves you tied up in knots so bad, your shit comes out in pretzel form.

Look at 6:35, how in gods name are you going to get out of that?

very good point, i hadnt thought of the crucifix. not very common though, haha excluding demian maia in his last fight. but i see your point. It just has always seemed to me that the guy on bottom even if he has trained going into the fight seems to , most of the time at least, forget what to do or becomes to hesitant before they are fully taken advantage of, in a grappling sense at least lol

If they get you down and you can get back up over and over, then you are better than them lol. Also you don't have to worry about punches to the head or a paycheck.
Looking for Sig Bets, I got:
Cat Zingano > Miesha Tate (Tron)
Cormier > Mir
Vitor > Rockhold (Tron)
Werdum > Mir

I guess this is true. for now its just a hobby, i've started my new love which is Muay Thai which has been life changing(along with a new appreciation for shin bruises). Who knows, if i find i can put others down and out grapple them i might just have to give it a try.

Nowhere right now, i just moved for the summer while i'm not in school. When i move back it's going to be at Guardian MMA in Murfreesboro TN. They have an incredible MT trainer along with a really bad ass boxing coach who is coaching his son on the olympic boxing team right now.

Pretty sick man. I train at 303 in Denver. My BJJ trainers are two Robson Moura brown belts and Mario "busy" Correa and our head Muay Thai coach is Duane Ludwig. We also have affiliations with Grudge, Easton's and Zingano's. We get the best of everything here in CO.

Hell yeah man that is badass, i'd love to be able to just sit and watch Bang go in there and throw on a daily basis.

Doug Frazieris the owner/operator who is a freaking scary blackbelt. But Warren Grace is the head BJJ instructor, and that guy is on a whole different level. i think he's ranked nationally as the #2 in no gi and #3 with gi which he got when he was a purple belt, i may have those backwords. Then the Judo/takedowns coach Mr. Burk is a judo blackbelt and about to get his BJJ blackbelt if i'm not mistaken, thats a 300 lb man who can float lol.

That's awesome man. Yeah I watched some of Grace's stuff. He's damn good. As for Mr. Burk all I can say is a 300 pound BJJ and Judo black belt is a scary man.

Yeah Duane is looking great. 170 is definitely his natural weight class. He just posted a six second vid of him training a combo with Trevor Whitman at Grudge. It's a very impressive six minutes. His technique is flawless and fluid. He's an incredible coach too.

Well that vid was actually filmed at Grudge. Same place Marquardt, Schaub, Carwin, and other big names train. That's a pretty big facility too. 303 is pretty damn massive though. Well at least it has about double the mat space most people have. Sometimes we have three or four classes going on at the same time. Check it out.
