Fighters you aren't a fan of, but have a lot of respect for

Postby MMAPunkBillCarson » Sun Apr 29, 2012 2:10 pm

What are some fighters whom you're not necessarily a fan of but respect their accomplishments? The catch? You don't hate the fighter or dislike them, and you could even find yourself being a fan of theirs one day.

Some of mine are Jon Jones, Anderson Silva, and GSP. I'm not particularly a fan of these fighters, but they have started to grow on me a bit as I respect the accomplishments they have garnered.

Haha, same here. AS, GSP, and JBJ are not my favorite fighters but a lot of what they have done is awesome. I'll go ahead and throw Fitch in there, not a fan but the guy deserves a little less hate.
Brickbat went easy on me because I bought into the Bisping tuf Brit hype and because he is not a slick-armed faggot pedophile like JoJo. . .

For me it's JDS. I don't consider myself a JDS fan, but I have a ton of respect for him and what he's done. He's also a nice guy.

Ben Askren. I hate everything but he tells you he's gonna wrestle you for five rounds and that's it. It's so fucking annoying and I'll talk shit about him forever, but he wins, and I can respect that. Him, Fitch, Sheilds, I do give them respect.

liddell..... liddel did alot for the sport and helped start the sport to rise back up. however i cant stand his fans and not being able to acknowledge, realize how he came to fame. the whole in his prime crap is garbage and they get butt hurt when someone lays the reality of liddells career on the line. Given the right match up, liddell can STILL go out there and win....hell id even say 7/10 he still beats rashad today. What they cant or dont want to realize is, in liddells golden age he never fought a striker that was capable of hanging with him, or when he did something surrounded the fight. he fought 3 guys who u can consider on his level of striking all u can put a () around. overeem tore liddell apart until he gassed, vitor was not the vitor of today, and wand showed the difference in us lhws and world lhws and still liddell acknowledges going nto the third he didnt want to stand with wand as wand hit insanly hard. it doesnt take a rocket scientist to anaylze when you look at liddells fall, it was all guys that were his level or above in striking. ive seen people say rampage broke liddells chin....no they broke liddells aura, like any fighter whos on a tear they build a aura of untouchable...rampage taking care of chuck broke that aura which gave guys after more confidence. baroni spoke of this about his time in pride about how chute boxe had this aura around them. guys going against wand, shogun were beat before the bell even rang.. wand and shogun just had this aura of unbeatable and destructors around them that it mentally beat guys before they stepped into the ring. rampage taking out chuck broke chucks aura and made guys like rashad and jardine say to themselves, hey this guy isnt unbeatable and gave them the confidence to go forward.

Normally, I'd reprimand you for missing the catch of the thread, but I'm too busy enjoying the eye candy you have in your sig. So you get a pass.
