Lara seems most likely to beat him because he's the only one who seems at all relevant.

Lara is the best option here but he would be spanked.
Canelo/Cotto is my favorite option. wont happen, it will turn cotto to a gatekeeper.

You don't think Cotto could beat him? Odd. I mean, Cotto is far from what he once what, but he's still damn good.

Canelo has the style to make Cotto look old.
A slight power and speed advantage combined with combination punching with assumed effective pressure spells disaster for Cotto.
Cotto's superior timing and boxing would keep him competative the first half of the fight, but he would fall, and fall hard.
Especially with his lack of defence and deteriorating chin.

Canelo TKO within 10 rounds. Mosley stood a better chance when he lost a 1 sided decision and actually threw punches.

Disagree. Cotto's reinvented himself as a fighter. He fights alot smarter and chooses his spots. I think Cotto could outbox Canelo for 12 rounds, but I also think Canelo could hurt Cotto. I'd say if Cotto could keep his movement up, Cotto UD. If he tired, MAYBE Canelo TKO 11/12. I'm still not a firm believer in Canelo's power. For so much talk about his power, I can't remember him dropping any of his recent opponents or having them seriously hurt. I know he got to Mosley with body shots, but that was after awhile IIRC.

Once again I have to agree with Nigel. Canelo would stop Cotto in a brutal way.

his power is overrated, but he throws a lot of crisp clean punches, the accumulated punishment would break someone with poor defence (such as cotto) round by round.

I could see that. It's a fight I can see going either way, either Canelo's punches just accumulating over time to eventually break Cotto down, or Cotto outboxing Canelo for the majority of 12 rounds.

Picked Lara and I think he can beat Canelo. I dont know why Canelo is being built like this unbelievably gifted fighter. He just learned defense. He throws crisp combonations, with very good power, no doubt. But he was wobbled by Cotto's bum ass brother. He had a challenge from Mosley for shit's sake. Again, the kid is a beast but doesn't blow me away. And the selection of opposition has been insulting. But, if he easily beats anyone on this list then I will change my tune. This will be the first true 154 boxer he's faced. With his record, thats sad.

Now, if this shit is on PPV then I will be watching online when its over. Unless he's fighting Cotto or Mayweather, there's no one he can fight that warrants me paying to see it.

Matorga claims he's signing a contract Tuesday    .

You know, I wouldnt even hate on Canelo/Mayorga. I think it would be a good fight, Mayorga isnt a midget moving up and no one can deny that it would be the best prefight build up than any of the other fighters could make it. Mayorga was whooping a good Mosleys ass and busting Cotto the fuck up before the inevitable happened in both fights  .

I think Lara could possibly beat Canelo but I wouldnt put money on that shit. I'd favor Canelo over the whole list of fighters but would rather see him fight Lara like everyone else so we can go ahead and x that name from the list because we never ever ever ever ever get to see the fights we want to  .
