Cerrone is pretty emotional. Maybe Melvin can encourage him to trade shots. Knocking his cowboy hat off at the weigh ins seems to work. 8)

edit: just got informed they are longtime trading partners. That throws a wrench into my theory

Melvins got the power though

As for the ground, if Cerrone gets his back its probably over.

Cerrone could pull guard and it would be over

What good striker has Melvin faced lately??? Cerrone would outstrike him with his reach then choke him out.

Cerrone is going to shit all over Melvin.
Melvin does have nasty power though. Cerrone is the better striker from a technical standpoint though. So I think he could use the distance and his reach to work some good kicks and maybe crack Guillard with a head kick. And if it ever ends up on the ground, Guillard is fucked.

Guillard has a glass chin that is supported by a glass throat. Rice Ceronne is a god damned cowboy, sort of, and he will smash that glass.

I think an overlooked aspect of this fight is that Guillard was at his very best when training under Greg Jackson. He has since left there. Cerrone however still trains there and that will be a huge advantage for him. I am not a fan of GJ, but if you give him a ton of info on a fighter and let him come up with a game plan he will do a great job. Cerrone is skilled enough to win no matter where this fight goes, Guillard needs to land bombs and hope for a KO.

Very good point on the camp. I think Cerrone has an edge in every area except power. I just think he gets cracked so often that Guillard will eventually connect. Cerrone's chin can only take so much.

Yeah that is what this comes down to. Can Guillard land a huge bomb and crack Cerrones chin? If not Cerrone wins.

Cerrone drops him and takes his back and then finishes the fight

Win or lose the only way I'll be disappointed is if I see any Jackson game planning play the points bullshit.
I still think that if they keep it on the feet and Cerrone decides to trade punches it could very well go Guillard's way. A brawl would favor him IMO but Cerrone is technically better.

Do you think Cerrone has the wrestling to get it to the mat? Guillard is a good wrestler and very strong and explosive.

I think Cerrone and Guillard are both very capable of landing the TD but Cerrone would be more of a threat off his back than Melvin would be even with top position. Guillard needs to keep this on the feet.

Yeah I agree 100%. No chance Guillard goes for a TD lol. I think if Cerrone can get TDs he will win easily via sub. Not sure if he can get them though.

Melvins.

Cerrone has the longer reach and will keep him at bay with jabs until he cracks him with a instep roundhouse. Melvin goes down, submission city.
